Your phone listens for a few seconds (4 to 12, depending on the song) and finds not only the song but the exact second the needle is at, so the lyrics start in the right place.

Turntables rarely spin at exactly 33⅓ RPM. WaxClub measures your turntable's real speed while songs play and keeps the lyrics on time. You can also fine-tune, reset or lock the speed.

Songs appear on albums, compilations and soundtracks. Once WaxClub knows which record is on your platter, it sticks to it: the next tracks come from that record's tracklist. Pick the exact pressing anytime with Change record.

Line by Line

Synced Lyrics

Lyrics follow the music line by line on your phone and TV, and the next track is prepared ahead, so there is no wait between songs. Early or late? Nudge by ±0.5 s and WaxClub remembers it for that song.

Point the camera at the barcode on the back cover, or photograph the catalog number on the spine or label. WaxClub finds your exact vinyl pressing and adds it to your collection.

Join the Club

WaxClub opens with the sign-in screen:

Continue with Google, or create an account with your email and a password (a 6-digit code confirms your email).
Choose a @username and pick your country, state or province and city from the lists. Your city will be used for concerts near you.
You stay signed in on your phone. Forgot your password? Tap Forgot password? and use the code sent to your email.

Drop the Needle

Put a record on and lower the needle. Keep the phone close to the speakers:

Tap the microphone button. WaxClub listens for 4 seconds, or up to 12 for harder songs.
It identifies the song and the exact point the needle is at, and the lyrics start in sync.
Avoid talking near the phone while it listens. If nothing is ever recognized, another app may be using the microphone; WaxClub warns you.

Speed & Timing

WaxClub keeps the lyrics in time on its own:

It measures your turntable's real speed while songs play and checks the sync now and then through the microphone.
At the end of each track it predicts the next one from the record’s tracklist and confirms it by listening.
Lyrics a little early or late? Use the −0.5 s / +0.5 s buttons; the offset is remembered for that song. In the controls you can also fine-tune, reset or lock the speed.

Lyrics on the TV

No apps to install on the TV. Phone and TV must be on the same Wi-Fi:

Chromecast and Google TV: tap the cast icon; your devices appear automatically.
Samsung, LG and other TVs: mirror your phone with Smart View, Cast or Wireless display (Miracast). The TV shows only the lyrics and the phone becomes the control panel.
TV not found? Check it is on and on the same Wi-Fi, then tap Search again.

Flip the Record

Vinyl has two sides, and WaxClub follows the ritual:

When a side ends, the button turns into Flip the record.
Tap it before or after you flip: the lyrics of the first track of the new side appear right away and start as soon as the needle hits the music.

Manual Mode

For rare pressings, white labels and private recordings the recognition system does not know:

Turn on the Manual switch (the wooden on/off button). The microphone button becomes a chrome ▶.
Tap ▶, pick the track where the needle starts and drop the needle. The microphone only listens for the start; lyrics and track changes follow the record’s track timing.
After a while without recognition, WaxClub suggests Manual mode. The switch turns off by itself when the record ends.
With the microphone on, WaxClub listens to the last seconds of each track until the next one starts, finding the gap between tracks to change right on time. With trusted track timing (the pressing on Discogs or MusicBrainz) it also estimates your turntable’s speed.
Lyrics late or early? Use −0.5 s / +0.5 s just above the ▶: in Manual mode it moves the whole side, track changes included. If the needle skips, fix it the same way.

Identify & Collect

Build your collection, synced to your WaxClub account:

Tap Identify (the camera button) and point at the barcode, or photograph the catalog number on the spine or label. You can also type the artist and album.
Pick your exact pressing (only vinyl is listed) and add it to My Collection with a rating, the media and sleeve condition (Discogs grading, from Mint to Poor) and notes.
WaxClub counts how many times each record was played. With the Discogs plugin (C1) connected, the record also goes to your Discogs collection.

Tap Plugins (the jack plug button):

Each plugin is a colored 7" single: green for languages, cyan for display, lilac for AI and orange for connections.
Tap a record or type its code (for example C1) on the keypad and press Select to see details and turn it on or off.
English comes preinstalled; other languages will be available on this website.
